Source: Data are from South African Labour Force Surveys (LFS) conducted by Statistics South Africa (15 surveys from September 2000 to September 2007). Notes: Weighted estimates shown. Sample includes non self-employed non-government workers aged between 15 and 65 years inclusive. Fitted values are shown for the pre- and post-law period for each treatment sector and the respective control. The break in trend represents the timing of the introduction of the law in the sector. Fitted values are estimated using a simple linear regression of employment on time (Employment = β 0 Time+ α, where α is the intercept).
